For a stayunforgettable
Villa Hirschen is the ideal starting point from which to easily reach the most famous attractions in Sicily. It is just a few kilometres from Taormina (37 km), Catania (25 km) and Syracuse (90 km). It is also the main access route to Mount Etna, the highest and most active volcano in Europe, thanks to the Etna provincial road that connects it to the Rifugio Sapienza and Piano Provenzana.

Etna
Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 21 June 2013.
It is a Quaternary volcanic complex, whose height varies greatly over time due to continuous eruptions, which constantly change the surrounding areas and have often threatened the resident populations.
The Etnean territory enjoys a beauty that derives not only from the grandeur of its eruptions and lava flows. Around the great volcano lies a unique and unparalleled environment, rich in sounds, scents and colours. An enchanting landscape, protected by a natural park that anyone in Sicily must visit.
The Etna Park
The purpose of Etna Park, with its 59 thousand hectares, is to protect the volcano and the biodiversity that surrounds its slopes, and also to create the conditions for Etna’s communities to promote eco-compatible and sustainable development.
The park offers various trekking routes on the volcano, meeting the needs of all its visitors, from novices to keen walkers.
Taormina and Isola Bella
Taormina is a unique city, a summer and winter tourist destination, an ideal set for famous film directors, and a venue for classical and modern music concerts as well as theatre performances and classical operas.
One of the city’s most famous events is the Taormina Film Festival, during which the prestigious Nastri d’Argento film critics’ awards are presented.
Take a historical and cultural tour of the city to admire the cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the various churches, palaces and above all the famous Greek Theatre.
Taormina is characterised by a mild climate and enjoys natural sites such as the Bay of Mazzaro and Isola Bella.

Catania
Catania is an exemplary city of Baroque art, situated on the slopes of Mount Etna and overlooking the Ionian Sea. There are many artistic testimonies such as the Odeon, the Roman Theatre, the amphitheatre and the Ursino Castle.
The representative symbol of the city of Catania is the Elephant with its historical fountain.
